Holidays have a funny way of showing us exactly where we’re still following the old rules, the ones about being strong, doing it all, not asking, not needing, not burdening anyone.

Last week, something happened in my own family that cracked one of those rules wide open. It was messy, honest, unexpectedly emotional… and it taught me a lot about what it really looks like to practice a new pattern.
