Hi Coach,
You can do hard things. And one of the hardest? Staying consistent when everyone else slows down. Come November, a lot of coaches start to drift. They tell themselves, “Everyone’s busy,” or “I’ll pick it back up in January.”
And then January comes… and panic hits.
They’re behind on revenue. Behind on outreach. Behind on confidence.
Here’s the truth: November is one of the most important months of the year for your business.
It’s when people reflect. When companies evaluate. When individuals realize another year has gone by, and they’re still not where they want to be.
That’s when coaching matters most. If you stay awake and consistent now, you’ll start 2026 with clients already on your calendar.
Here are four ways to do that:
1. Offer an End-of-Year Audit or a 2026 Planning Session.
Reach out to past clients, colleagues, and warm leads with a message like:
“As we wrap up 2025, I’m offering a few End-of-Year Audit sessions to help people reflect on what worked, what didn’t, and what they want to create in 2026. Would you like to schedule one?”
You can also frame it as a 2026 Planning Session for those looking ahead. It’s not a sales pitch, it’s a service. And often, these conversations naturally lead to new coaching relationships.
2. Reach Out to HR and Company Leaders.
Performance evaluations are happening everywhere right now. This is the perfect time to connect with HR directors, people managers, and decision-makers.
Try a message like:
“I know this is performance review season. If your team could use coaching support to turn that feedback into real growth and development, I’d love to explore how I can help.”
Position yourself as a strategic partner who helps leaders and teams turn feedback into momentum.
3. Keep the Reach-Out Rhythm Going.
Even with holidays, family, and full schedules, keep connecting.
You don’t need a big agenda. Sometimes it’s as simple as:
“I’ve been thinking about you and wanted to check in. How’s everything going as you close out the year?”
Those genuine touches build trust and visibility. The coaches who stay present in November are the ones who start the year with momentum and confidence, not panic.
4. Practice Gratitude and Mean It.
Since this is the month of Thanksgiving, reach out and tell people why you’re grateful for them specifically.
What have they taught you? How have they impacted your life or business? Gratitude isn’t just good manners — it’s connection, and connection is the foundation of client creation.
Here’s a simple message to start:
“As I reflect on this year, I wanted to tell you how much I’ve appreciated [something specific they’ve done or taught you]. It’s made a real difference for me.”
Coaches, I’m grateful for you.
For the way you show up for your clients. For the way you keep learning, growing, and stretching yourself, even when it’s uncomfortable. For the way you’re building something that matters.
Let everyone else hit snooze. You’ve got work worth doing and people who are waiting for you to reach out.
Keep going,
Gretchen
