Gretchen Hydo - Certified Master CoachI did it! I am officially a Master Coach through the International Coaching Federation. This is the highest designation a trained and certified coach can get. The achievement process is labor intensive and requires thousands of hours and years of practice and training. When I set out to be a coach four and a half years ago, I knew that I was aiming for this moment. And here it is. And I have to say it feels SOOOO good!

I have graduated from college, have a certificate from UCLA in Public Relations, bought a home, launched businesses, and published and advice column. And I have to tell you, none of it has felt as exciting as this. It takes up to five months for the International Coaching Federation to give you the green light. They have to review your coaching hours, your mentorship, your training, and have a panel of Master Coach assessors listen to your coaching recordings to see if you meet the high standards of excellence. I have been on pins and needles for months waiting to hear if I got it or not. I told myself that if I didn’t get it the first time, it was okay. Lots of people do not make it the first time (most coaches never get to this level at all). I went back and forth from feeling like I had it to not being sure.

When the email came and I opened it and saw the results I literally screamed and jumped up and down. “I did it! I did it,” I shouted. And the pride and adrenaline mixed together was a feeling that I realized we don’t get enough of. I’ve reached a lot of goals, have hit a lot of milestones, have had my share of accomplishments but this one felt different. It felt more important. More earned. And more about me. For the first time in my life this goal had nothing to do with anyone else. I wasn’t doing it because I was supposed to or because it was the next thing to do. I put in the time and effort and money because I wanted it for myself and for the people that I serve. This accomplishment felt so good because it was hard. Really hard. And because it was just about me.

When is the last time you did something that was just about you? It wasn’t about your family, your responsibilities, or your “shoulds.” It was something that you wanted and went after with complete abandon, not knowing if you would get it. Everyone deserves that kind of an accomplishment in life. Everyone should reach their own brass ring of excellence. If you haven’t figured out how or haven’t dared to do it, now is the time. I mean it. Don’t wait. Don’t put it off. A decade is coming to a close. Time goes by fast. The life you had 10 years ago is marked and different than the life you have today. The question is, is it the life you want? Is it the thing you yearn for? Is it the accomplishment that makes you yell, “I did it!” when you are home alone?

We all have something big inside of us. Something that is stirring Something that we might be excited and afraid of. An inkling of what could be. Blow on the embers. Take a step. Make a plan. Take an action and go towards it. The best is yet to come and it’s time for you to meet it.

I honor your dreams, your goals, your vision. I want to support you to cultivate, explore and breakthrough to your gift. I have created two programs to help people do just that. The first one is my 2020 year of transformation program that is designed to help you identify, cultivate, strategize, and follow through so that you can live the life you really want. The second is a VIP program for the highly focused person who wants to run fast and hard towards their next level of greatness. Both programs are customized. Both programs are life changing. Both programs are electric and will help you to wake up and really live. If this excites you or scares you or peaks your interest, contact me. These programs aren’t for everyone, but for those of you who it is for, get ready.
