The Power of Stair Stepping

Photo of woman's feet in high heels and business attire walking up steps.

Picture this: a room pulsating with energy, brimming with passionate souls who refuse to settle for anything less than greatness. Each woman in that room possessed a unique power—a power to uplift, inspire, and break down barriers. Now, hold onto that image as I share with you an extraordinary experience that unfolded before me: the remarkable opportunity to address a phenomenal group of over 100 powerhouse women, actively shaping and transforming the landscape of greater Los Angeles.

But that’s not all!

The topic of my speech was based on my book, specifically delving into how our negative narratives can hinder our professional growth.

And, here’s the icing on the cake: after the presentation, I held a book signing, and women lined up eagerly to have their books signed, take photos, and receive words of encouragement!

My son said I had made it to the celebrity E-List! Nothing like a teenager to let you know where you stand.

Dreams really do come TRUE. 🤩

Since I am all about revealing secrets, let me tell you one of mine. Before that day, I was feeling discouraged about my book. I found myself fixating on the results I had achieved so far, wondering why I hadn’t made more progress. I had this grand vision of becoming a New York Times Best Seller just six weeks after publishing, and I constantly compared where I was in my business as a coach to where I wanted to be in terms of speaking engagements and book success.

The reality was that I had just begun my journey in these areas, and it took years of hard work and incremental progress to reach where I am today in my coaching career.

So here’s the deal: whether it’s your dream of starting a business, getting that promotion, or mastering a new skill, you have to take it one step at a time.

It’s like climbing a staircase.

Each step counts, no matter how small. Speaking to one audience? Step forward. Doing a book signing? Another step. Hearing people share their experiences with your work? Yet another step.

It’s all progress, even if it doesn’t feel like it at times.

Now, it’s your turn.👇

Are you ready to start working on some of your dreams or goals that need some stair-stepping magic? Here’s a four-step plan to get you going:

👉🏻Imagine where you want to be in five years. Picture it vividly. How will achieving that goal change your life? What awesome things will come your way?

👉🏻Now, pick one small step you can take this week to get closer to your goal. It can be as simple as making a phone call or doing some research. Just get that foot on the first step!

👉🏻Once you’ve conquered that step, celebrate! Then, find another small step for the following week. Keep building momentum, my friend.

👉🏻 What belief or self-perception do you need to let go of in order to take that first step? (For me, it was letting go of the notion that success should come quickly and that taking small steps equaled failure.)

Believe me when I say that all the effort and hard work I put into my journey became worth it.

Stair stepping is a powerful concept that empowers us to achieve our dreams, one step at a time.

Whether you’re starting a business, aiming for a promotion, or acquiring new skills, the key lies in consistently taking those small steps forward.

Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither are dreams.

Keep climbing those stairs, and before you know it, you’ll be dancing at the top.
