Keep Learning, Keep Growing

Keep Learning, Keep GrowingFor many people, it’s August is back-to-school season–full of changing routines and new expectations. Even when you’re not in school, this time of year often signals change and opportunities to learn new things, develop your skills, and tackle new goals.

Sometimes, we get so caught up in trying to make the back-to-school season a smooth transition for everyone else that we forget about our own wellbeing and growth. This time can be the perfect reminder that we’re all students of something. Developing our identity as a “lifelong student” is key to uncovering our potential and continuing to grow throughout our lives.

Here are a few things you can do to encourage the student in you:

  1. Find a Mentor
Someone who knows more than you about any area you’re interested in. Be ready to listen, ask questions, and take mental notes. Often, just finding someone who lives their life in a way you admire can help you grow in ways you did not anticipate.
  2. Find the Tools
There are so many great resources in the world that are designed to help us stay on the path of growth. Find a podcast you like, take a workshop, read books, get worksheets, or hire a coach! Whatever you need in your current season to take you to the next level.
  3. Ask Questions
Curiosity is a valuable tool. It empowers you to dig deeper into situations and find the root. Don’t be shy. Ask the hard questions and see what comes up.
