Finding your purpose is an exciting process once you begin. We are all unique and possess a special set of talents and abilities. Examining that uniqueness and determining where your strengths lie is the first step in finding your purpose.
When finding your purpose, here are a few things to consider:
1. What makes you happy?
This could also be phrased, What do you love doing? or What makes you feel needed and important? For some people, it’s teaching others new skills. For others, it’s equipping small businesses to succeed. Whatever it is, it can give you a clue as to what your purpose might be.
2. What are you passionate about?
Is there a cause you’ve always felt strongly about? Maybe it’s poverty, literacy, or something more specific, like teaching preschoolers to express themselves through the arts. If you think it’s important, it is.
3. What are your skills/talents?
Some people are natural organizers, others are great at inspiring and motivating people. What are you good at? Pinpoint that and see how it can work in tandem with the things you’re passionate about and make you happy!
Finding your purpose is a process, one that a life coach can help you navigate! We all have something very singular to offer the people around us. There truly is no one like you in the world! Don’t get stuck with the idea that you are meant for a listless, unfulfilling life. You are made for so much more!
