You weren’t “too emotional.” You were carrying years of silence.

You ever wonder why one tiny moment sets you off?

A sideways glance.
A tone that felt off.
A single piece of feedback that hits way too hard.

It’s not just about what happened today.
It’s about everything you’ve tucked away, for years.

Unspoken hurts.
Stories no one ever gave you space to process.
Times you were told to tone it down, be nice, hold it in.

What you felt was real.
But the volume? That came from a deeper place.

These are what I call Tripwire Emotions.
The emotional overreactions rooted in the past, not the present.

And if you’re the woman who always has it together…
You’ve probably judged yourself for feeling “too much.”

But what if that trigger isn’t something to be ashamed of
but something to be curious about?

In this video, I’m breaking down how Tripwire Emotions work,
and how you can stop being blindsided by your reactions.

Because silence doesn’t keep you safe.
It just keeps you stuck.

Repost this for the woman who needs to know:
She’s not too much. She’s just been holding too much.

You asked one question at the PTA and got labeled “difficult.”

I’ll never forget the day it happened to me.
I was helping with my son’s school play, volunteering, showing up, doing my part.

One of the moms asked me to handle something, and I simply asked a clarifying question.

Next thing I knew, a group email thread pinged.

And in it was a line I wasn’t meant to see:
“I just had a Gretchen Hydo moment.”

That was the moment. I realized asking for clarity had made me that mom.
The “difficult” one. The one they rolled their eyes at.
I was crushed.

Not because I wanted their approval but because I had done what I was taught to do:
Be helpful. Be agreeable. Be easy to work with.
That’s how you avoid rejection… right?

Here’s what I know now:
Sometimes the people labeling you “difficult” are just used to women staying quiet.
I didn’t clap back. I didn’t beg for belonging.
I faced the rejection.

And chose new people.

Drop “I feel this” if it’s happened to you.

Or repost this to remind someone: you’re allowed to ask questions without being cast aside.

If your voice drops when you say your price, you’re not ready to close the sale.

You nailed the sales call.
You coached like a pro.

Then you named your offer…
And you hesitated.
Shrunk.
Over-explained.

That’s not leadership. That’s fear in a business suit.

But keep in mind, you’re not being pushy when you sell.
You’re offering the one thing they actually need: transformation.

Most coaches lose the sale before they even get to the pitch.

I created the Connection Call Script to fix that.

6 steps. Built to help you close with clarity, not apology.

DM me “SCRIPT” and I’ll send it to you.

The moment after “The Turn” is where most coaches get stuck.

You’re in the real conversation.
They’re opening up.
It’s the moment to make the offer…

…but instead you say,
“Let me know if I can help.”
Or worse—nothing at all.

If this is you, you’re not alone.
But you’re also leaving impact (and income) on the table.

This month’s newsletter is your guide to The Second Turn and why your next client is one bold question away.

No one teaches leaders how to feel.
They teach you how to delegate.
How to strategize.
How to communicate clearly under pressure.

But when it comes to the emotional cost of leadership?
Silence.

So you learn to hide it:
The shame after a tough conversation
The guilt of not being present at home
The pressure to always say the right thing

You’re praised for staying calm.
But no one asks what it’s costing you.

Here’s what I want you to know:
Emotions don’t make you less of a leader.
Avoiding them does.

Because when you push them down, they don’t disappear.
They come out sideways, in burnout, reactivity, or disconnection.

True leadership starts when you stop performing
and start practicing self-awareness.

I teach high-level leaders how to develop emotional intelligence
not just for their team, but for themselves.

Because feeling isn’t weakness.
It’s wisdom.

If this hits home, share it with another leader who needs to hear it.
