That was my story for a long time.
“I’m too much.”
“I scare people off.”
“People don’t stick around.”
It sounded like the truth—but it wasn’t.
It was a survival narrative.
One I learned early and wore like armor.
And here’s the thing:
Most high-achieving women are walking around with stories like this, stories that feel like facts because they’ve been repeated for years.
So how do you start breaking free?
Here’s what I walk my clients through:
1. Name the script.
What’s the thing you always say about yourself?
“I always have to be the strong one.”
“If I speak up, people won’t like me.”
“I’m too sensitive / intense / driven / [fill in the blank].”
2. Ask: Where did this come from?
Was it a parent? A role you had to play? A moment that hurt?
You didn’t make it up out of nowhere. But that doesn’t mean it belongs to you.
3. Hold it up to the truth.
Does this story still serve you?
Or is it keeping you quiet, over-functioning, second-guessing, or stuck?
It’s not about fixing what’s broken.
It’s about freeing what’s buried.
You don’t have to carry that old story forever.
And you sure as hell don’t have to keep living by it.
Drop your story below if you’re ready to challenge it.
Or share what you’ve been unlearning lately.
Let’s talk about it.

When you’re deep in the work, building, coaching, launching, it’s easy to forget why you started.
But your why? That’s your root system. It’s what grounds you when doubt creeps in. It’s what keeps you moving when results feel slow.
So today, I’m asking: What’s your why for doing this work? Who are you fighting for when you show up?
I’ll go first in the comments. Let’s remember what matters most.

Have you ever stopped to ask yourself: What am I protecting? 🤔
There’s a part of us that believes if we keep certain truths hidden—about who we are, what we’ve done, or how we feel—we’re somehow safer.
We think it shields us from judgment, rejection, or loss. 😔
But is that really true?
What often feels like protection is actually something much more limiting: a false sense of safety. The very secrets we keep to protect ourselves from harm end up building walls that cut us off from the deeper connection, freedom, and authenticity we crave.
And here’s what you may not have realized: Secrets don’t just keep you from others, they keep you from yourself. 🔒
They encourage us to build a false identity, one that is constantly managed and controlled.
What’s even more heartbreaking is how this impacts our relationships. The walls we build to protect ourselves also keep others at arm’s length.
Genuine connection requires vulnerability. 🫂
Real safety doesn’t come from hiding. It comes from being fully seen.
The very thing you think you’re protecting yourself from (rejection, judgment, failure…) is actually the thing holding you back from the life you truly want.
So, my friend, what are your secrets costing you? And how much more alive, connected, and free could you be if you let them go? 🕊️
